Art has always been at the heart of who I am. I fell in love with clay as a kid, and that creative spark has guided me ever since. At 17, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and after a severe attack left me temporarily paralyzed, I shifted from a dream of dance to a lifelong mission of healing and connection through art.
For nearly 40 years, I’ve been creating work rooted in resilience, accessibility, and joy. Through Anne Krocak – Fine Arts, I’ve had the honor of leading public and fine art projects across the country, including work for the CDC, The Kennedy Center, and Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. With a Master’s in Art Education, I also lead workshops in schools, libraries, shelters, museums, and senior communities—helping others find their own voice through creativity.

The Brush as a Beacon

I once sat with a group of women in a shelter, all of us holding brushes but carrying different kinds of pain. We weren't there to "fix" anything—we were there to paint. Quietly, slowly, one woman began to draw the outline of a home. Another, a bird. Another filled the space with color like it had been bottled up for years. No one told them what to make. They just knew.
In that small room, something radical happened: we were seen. We were heard—without saying a word. That’s what art does. It bypasses the defenses. It holds truth that’s too heavy for words. It brings the invisible into view.
Art is a revolution because it invites us to imagine a different way of being—and then helps us build it. It’s a mirror and a blueprint, a protest and a prayer. Whether it's a mural on a city wall, a quilt of unheard stories, or a child’s drawing taped to a fridge, art declares: I am here. I matter. We matter.
I've spent my life making space for that message—in clay, in paint, in mosaic, in motion. Because when people create together, they remember they have a voice. They start to believe change is possible. And that? That’s the beginning of everything.
